Janice Allee received her Masters in Fine Arts from the Parsons School Of Design, NYC, a Masters of Science degree from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, NY, and a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College, Columbia University. While living in NYC, she attended the Art Students League, studying with John Heliker; and while at Parsons, Paul Resika and Leland Bell were her teachers.

Upon moving to the Cape and living in Truro, she has participated in numerous shows, including those at Gallery Eva and The Schoolhouse Gallery. She has shown at the Robyn Watson Gallery and the Packard Gallery, both in Provincetown Ma.

What is important to Allee is the transformation of objects by movement and light. Her search is not for realism but for color relationships that offer life to the canvas. Both the landscape and the space where the model stands are treated the same- like weights in a scale offering rhythm and balance.
