Christopher Jagmin Biography

Christopher Jagmin

Christopher Jagmin's paintings are inspired by his open-air studio where he works at his desert home. While painting outside, he listens to the many birds that hang out with him as he paints these encaustic pieces.

Christopher studied printmaking and graphic design at the School of Fine Arts at Indiana University. He fell in love with encaustic painting when he took classes at the Shemer Art Center in Phoenix, Arizona where he now lives. Encuastic painting is an ancient technique heating wax and paint together. Pieces are then carved out to fuse other colors. Christopher loves the materials and the textural, almost sculptural qualities of the medium.

Christopher currently shows his work at numerous galleries in Massachusetts, Arizona, and Chicago. His pieces are in private and public collections across North America.
